Haak has over thirty years of experience in the plastics and packaging industry, implementing a high degree of automation, such as the use of 3, 4 and 6 axis robots. We now want to use our knowledge and state-of-the-art techniques to the advantage of the chicory processing industry.
We offer modular components that can be combined to form a complete production line. The modules are connected through a highly reliable electronic bus system, meaning the modules are easy to service and all have their own integrated control systems. The various units and the central control unit are fused through a compact central fuse box. The control components are integrated into the respective units.
We offer the following standard units:
The storage units are all fitted with a tilting platform that accepts standardised trays. The control panels are fitted with heavy duty control buttons. Each motor is frequency-controlled, which ensures the system starts and stops smoothly, saving energy and causing less wear and tear, thus prolonging its service life. The storage units are available in two different sizes.
We offer two types of ergonomic conveyor belt systems. The first type allows horizontal loading of the trays onto the conveyor belt from both sides of system. The second type has a tilting system that tilts the loading platform towards the operator, allowing the trays to be loaded from one side of the conveyor belt.
All our stacking and unstacking units are fitted with a bottom support conveyor system, thus providing a reliable and stable way of stacking the trays. The systems can be fitted with a rotating platform, allowing rotation of the trays before stacking or unstacking. The maximum stacking height can be specified on an MMI.
The conveyor systems are available in various lengths and as either leg or bottom support systems. The leg support belt system transports the trays standing on their legs, whereas the bottom support system supports the trays resting with their bottoms on the conveyor belt. The latter system is more reliable when several conveyor belts are combined in a row, because it minimises the risk of a tray misaligning with the next conveyor belt and falling off. The leg support system is however very suitable when the trays are being placed on the conveyor belt using a forklift. In this case it is best to follow up the leg support system with a bottom support system for further transportation.
The rotating platforms are only available as bottom support type units. The rotating platform offers space for a single tray a time and can rotate in both directions, with a maximum of 90 degrees to the right and 270 degrees to the left. It is also possible to have the platform rotate either to the left or to the right, depending on the specific orientation of the tray being handled.
Our spraying units are independently functioning units. The unit can be placed over a bottom support conveyor belt system, where it will detect the front and back of the tray on the conveyor belt and start and stop automatically. These units are fitted with a pump.
Our cutting units have a large diameter, ensuring easy mounting of the produce while also guaranteeing the safety of the operator. Once the produce is mounted safely, the machine will automatically cut it at a specified length. The machine is also fitted with a sensor that counts the number of products cut. This count can be viewed on the MMI.
We offer various types of custom length conveyor belt systems for the removal of cutting waste.
Haak developed a washing installation that offers the possibility of washing the trays and grids separately. The trays are fed into the unit automatically from a bottom support conveyor system. The grids need to be manually hung from a suspended transport system. The grids are fed into the machine automatically when the operator presses the start button. When the cleaning cycle is finished, the grids will exit the machine on the other side, ready for use.
Haak offers automated processing solutions for chicory harvesting. We offer entire custom made processing lines for produce such as chicory, but also separate processing units and conveyor belts. Haak Chicory has its own engineering, production and software development departments, which means the entire development of our machinery is done in-house.
